About Medicare

Bulk billing means we bill Medicare directly for your telehealth appointment and accept the Medicare rebate as full payment. If you are eligible, you pay $0 out of pocket - there is no gap fee. Bulk billing is only available for certain telehealth services under Medicare rules. It is not available for every appointment or every patient.

From 1 November 2025, patients registered in MyMedicare with a practice have easier access to longer Medicare-funded telehealth consultations and expanded bulk billing incentives.

If you do not meet the requirements for bulk billing bulkbill.doctor still offers convenient private paid telehealth appointments.

Our private fees are set based on the standard Medicare rebate for each appointment type, with a small gap. You will know the exact fee before you book, and you can claim the Medicare rebate back afterwards (usually via the Medicare app or online).

This week is a practical nudge to say yes to you, without turning your own health into a project you will start when life is...

Prostate Health Basics: What Every Bloke Should Know
September is when prostate health gets a public push, which is useful, because most blokes will put it off until something is already annoying. A slower stream. Getting up twice a night. A mate who had a scare. None of that means cancer. It does mean the topic belongs in ordinary general practice, not in a late-night Google hole. This is what every bloke should know: the prostate is a normal bit of kit, changes are common, and a conversation with a GP is how you sort the ordinary from the...

Brain Health Basics: Lifestyle Tips to Support Cognitive Wellbeing
September is Dementia Action Month, which tends to arrive with a lot of fear and not much that you can actually do on a Tuesday. Memory is not a pass or fail test, and brain health is not a crossword puzzle you can win. It is closer to heart health than people think: sleep, movement, blood pressure, hearing, mood, and the company you keep. These are lifestyle tips to support cognitive wellbeing, not a promise that nothing will ever change. They are the ordinary levers that still matter. Why...

It’s comforting to know support is only a phone or video call away. Telehealth has made everything so much easier and more convenient.
